October 1 Pray for a small group of believers here in Niamey who are planning to travel this week to three villages where there are no known believers. Pray for them as they share the gospel and seek to start outreach groups.

October 2 Pray for our team meeting today. Pray for our time of fellowship and prayer to strengthen us and give guidance and encouragement to our team.

October 3 Pray for the kids club that Kimberly meets with today. Pray for the 2-3 mothers that are often there and learning the stories as they watch and listen to the kids. Pray that the stories they are hearing and learning would penetrate their hearts and minds and they would make decisions to follow Christ.

October 4 Pray for Phil as he wraps up the Old Testament survey in “S” village and makes plans for a new study. Pray for wisdom and guidance as to what to focus on next. Praise God for the many new men who have been coming in the past few weeks.

October 5 Pray for Phil and Kimberly as they teach the story of Joseph and Potiphar’s wife to the youth tonight. Pray for good communication and for the young people to apply the truths they learn from these Bible stories to their lives.

October 6 Beginning this month, Phil will be meeting with other missionary men for Bible study and prayer. Pray that they would hear from God as they go through this study and for them to be strengthened as they lead their families and various ministries.

October 7 Please pray for Phil and Kimberly as they will be teaching a Purity and Sexuality Bible study to the youth of their local Zerma church. Pray for the ability to tell the story well and for there to be good discussion in the group.

October 8 Pray for Phil and John as they teach in a village each week. Pray for the Zerma and Gourmantche men who have been attending. Pray for their eyes to be open to the truth of God’s word and His plan for their lives.

October 9 Caleb will be taking his mid-term exams this week through the 12th. Pray for Caleb to study and prepare well and to do his very best on all his exams.

October 10 The millet harvest is underway this month. Thank you for your prayers for rain and praise God for the rain that fell, enabling many to have a good harvest this year. Pray for those areas of the country where the harvest won’t be as good due to insufficient rain, that people will be able to obtain the food they need to feed their families.

October 11 Remember Kimberly today as she will be leading the Bible study time with the weekly missionary women’s Bible study she participates in.

October 12 Pray for the kids club that will be meeting at church tomorrow. The Lord is bringing more kids each week. In September, a man came by the church gate and told some of the kids to leave. Pray that each child who desires to come to kids club will be able to come without any hindrances.

October 13 The IMB missionary women will be meeting for a monthly time of prayer together. Pray for our time to bring glory to God and encouragement and strength to our souls.

October 14 “Lily,” Pastor “Adam’s” oldest daughter, did well in school last year. She has completed all the grades that her former school provided. She is attending a different Christian school this year. Pray for God to provide for her and family financially and pray for her continuing education.

October 15 Phil and Kimberly will be traveling to the US at the end of the month to participate in a missions conference at Hi-Way Baptist Church in Mesa, Arizona. This church has sent many volunteers to Niger over the years. Pray that we will communicate well the ministry needs and opportunities for future trips and to express our appreciation for all that the church has done here in Niger.

October 16 Caleb will traveling back to school today following a two day break after his mid-term exams. Pray for Kimberly’s mom and Caleb as they travel back to school today.

October 17 Pray for “Marie,” a baby that was born to one of our church members. She is healthy but small. Pray for her to grow and thrive and that she would grow into a woman who follows God.

October 18 Pray for Kimberly as she leads the discussion on questions the women have answered during the week to prepare for tonight’s Bible study.

October 19 With rainy season comes mosquitos, and with mosquitos come malaria. Pray for the many who are suffering from malaria, that they would recover quickly. Pray for those who need treatment, that they would be able to get the medicine they need.

October 20 Pray for the trustees of the International Mission Board as they seek a replacement for outgoing president David Platt. Pray for Dr. Clyde Meador as he fills the role of interim president.

October 21 The Niger public schools have resumed this month. Pray for the students and teachers, some of whom travel far from home to attend school. Pray that the students would have a desire to learn and that they would see God’s hand at work in all of creation through their studies. Pray that the teachers would be encouragers and help their students to excel.

October 22 Pray for us to give all our anxious thoughts to God and to rest in His peace. “Don’t worry about anything, but, in everything through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

October 23 Several Zerma believers we know are struggling to support their families financially. Pray that they would find employment that brings regular and adequate wages.

October 24 With ongoing security concerns, we are somewhat limited in our ability to travel to certain areas outside of Niamey. Pray that where we are not able to go right now, people would be able to come to us for training, discipleship, etc.

October 25 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last.” (John 15:16) Pray for the Christians in Niger, that they will bear much fruit from their toil and trials, persecution and perseverance. May their testimony bring more of their people to salvation!

October 26 In the last month, Phil has given away over forty micro-SD cards containing testimonies, messages, the Jesus film, and an audio version of the New Testament, all in Zarma. Pray that these would be used effectively in enabling people to hear the gospel and helping believers grow in their faith.

October 27 Pray that God would lead us to those men and women He has prepared to hear the gospel. Pray that we would be sensitive to opportunities to share the message with the lost.

October 28 Pray that Christ would be exalted and that His name would be made known among the Zerma and all the nations of the earth.

October 29 Praise God for his provision to Caroline by providing her with two part-time jobs to meet her needs. Pray for the full-time job that she continues to seek, that He would open the doors wide for her when His timing is right.

October 30 Pray that God would pour out His Spirit upon the Zerma, convicting them of their lostness and their need for salvation through Christ alone. Pray that God would prepare their hearts to receive His Word.

October 31 Phil and Kimberly are traveling to the US today to share at a missions conference. After that, we will be traveling to see Caleb and Caroline. Pray for a smooth trip and connections and for our baggage to arrive with us.
