From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained. Jeremiah 30:19

Dear Prayer Warriors,
Thank you for holding the ropes for the Zerma people and our family so faithfully. We’re excited to share that we are now back in Niger. This past year and ten months in the States has been full of excitement, challenges, and changes for our family. Phil and I have returned to the field very differently than all our previous trips—it is now just the two of us. Our daughter, Caroline, graduated from college last year and is currently living and working in Richmond, Virginia. Her birthday is November 30. If you would like to send her a card, send me an email and I will give you her address.

Our son, Caleb, graduated from high school this past June and is now a freshman at Dallas Baptist University.
In June of 2016 we were asked to serve as Stateside Strategy Liaisons for the Sub-Saharan African Affinity of the International Mission Board to help train new missionaries coming to our part of the world. This was a great blessing for us and we enjoyed every moment of this ministry. When we came back to the U.S. in January 2016, I was using a crutch and recovering from knee surgery. I’m returning walking on my own two feet and feeling much better and stronger.

I’m looking forward to updating you on the Zerma ministry when we are back in Niger and have fresh from the field news to share with you so that you may continue to pray boldly and confidently for the ministry among the Zerma. Many of you have seen Niger in the news recently. Please continue to pray for peace and for the protection of both Nigerien troops and the U.S. troops assisting them.

Our newsletter for this month will look a little different than the normal prayer letter because we will be traveling at the end of October and first of November. I’ve included prayer requests that you can pray for—one for each day of the week. You may pray for those on every Monday, Tuesday, etc. throughout the month of November. I’ll begin with Wednesday since that is November 1st.

Wednesday Pray for Phil and Kimberly as they reenter life and ministry in Niger. Pray for them as they unpack and set up their house, reestablish relationships, and adjust to their new normal as empty nesters. Pray for wisdom in their plans for ministry.

Thursday Pray for the Zerma who don’t know or understand the Good News. Pray that they would have tender hearts and ears to hear the Good News.

Friday Pray for divine appointments between the Cains and Zerma people who are seeking the truth. Pray for the Cains to be ready to share at every moment and to join God in where he is working among the Zerma people.

Saturday Pray for Zerma believers to be strong in their witness and bold in sharing their faith. Pray for the Pastor “Adam” and his family as they seek to live out godly lives among their friends and neighbors.

Sunday Pray for the churches in Niger to be strong and healthy and for them to be faithful in proclaiming the gospel.

Monday Pray for Zerma men to come to Christ and lead their family in God honoring ways.

Tuesday Pray for Zerma women and children to come to Christ and to lead lives that bring glory and honor to God.

Thanks for your prayers on behalf of the Zerma people and for our family. Your prayers are vital to our lives and to the lives of the Zerma people.
