You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind (both its inclination and character) is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You,
and hopes confidently in You.
Isaiah 26:3

February 1 We’re thankful for the volunteer trip the Frank family made to Niger last month. They were such an encouragement to the Zerma people and to our family!

February 2 Don and Teresa Bolls are still serving as Missionaries-In-Residence for the spring semester at Ouachita Baptist University. Pray as they share their experiences as IMB missionaries with students, in particular their work in Niger with the Zerma people. Pray for them as they relate with MK and International students.

February 3 Pray for wisdom for Mark and Deanna Ledlow as they seek God’s ministry direction with well-drilling, and that doors would open to share the gospel in villages through this ministry.

February 4 Pray for a group of young men who are new believers—none of them can read but they have a desire to learn. Pastor “B” has agreed to teach them how to read and write in Zerma using literacy materials. Pray that they would be diligent and persistent as they learn. Pray that as they listen to audio recordings of the scriptures that they will understand it and know how to apply it to their lives.

February 5 Pray for Kimberly as she leads a kids club on Wednesdays. Pray for their time together to be free from distractions and interruptions. Pray for the children to listen well and remain focused on the stories of Jesus’ ministry.

February 6 Pray for April and Rebekah on Thursdays. Every Thursday they have been going to GK village. They have shown the Jesus film there and around 300 people came to see it. Pray for Fati, their contact, who is dying of muscular dystrophy. Pray for her healing. Pray for the 100 men, women, and children who come to hear the Bible stories each week. Pray for April and Rebekah to have good relationships with the chief and people there.

February 7 April and Rebekah lead a girl’s club at church on Fridays. Pray for the 6 girls who attend. Pray for other girls to join. Pray for April and Rebekah as they teach Bible stories focusing on Jesus’ ministry this month.

February 8 Grace and Kelly, previous ministry partners with April, will be arriving in Niger today. Pray that they will have safe travels and that they will make an impact for the kingdom during their time here.

February 9 Pray for a former Zerma witch doctor who is now a follower of Christ. He has been experiencing what appears to be spiritual warfare, often losing his hearing and experiencing other physical ailments, along with a sense of spiritual oppression. Pray that he will hold fast to the knowledge that “greater is He who is in you than He who is in the world.” Pray that he will grow in faith and resist the schemes of Satan.

February 10 - A new semester is well under way at Ouachita Baptist University.
Teresa Bolls is taking a more active roll this semester teaching English as a Second Language at the University Center for International Education. Pray for wisdom in words and action as she interacts with students, faculty, staff and in particular International students.

February 11 Pray for a young man who has accepted Christ in one of the villages that Pastor “B” visits regularly. His father has been forcing him to continue going to daily prayers at the mosque. Pray that he will stand firm in his faith and live out his faith in such a way that they see the difference Christ makes. Pray for his family, that they will have opportunities to hear the gospel and come to know the Savior as well.

February 12 Pray for the Zerma who are putting in a lot of time and effort on their dry season gardens. In addition to watering everything by hand, carrying the water from a well or nearby pond, they also have to fight insects and geckos and sometimes goats or sheep who break through the fence. Pray that their gardens will produce abundant fruit and vegetables, enough to feed their families with extra to sell at the market.

February 13 Pray that many Zerma will hear the gospel today. Pray that they would not just hear it but understand it and be convicted of the sin that separates them from God. Pray that they will understand that only Jesus can wash that sin away and make them righteous before God.

February 14 Happy Valentine’s Day! Pray for the Zerma people to have their hearts and minds open to the truth of God’s love for them.

February 15 April and Rebekah visit and story with two different groups on Saturday. Both groups have recently been more open about their beliefs. Pray that they will Christ as Savior.

February 16 Pray for Grace and Kelly as they finish up their time here. Pray for their travel safety as they fly back to the U.S. on the 18th.

February 17 Pray for the Muslim workers that Mark and Deanna work alongside to open their hearts to the precious gift of God’s love.

February 18 The International Food Festival will take place at Ouachita Baptist University today. The festival has different activities but highlights traditional international food which provides opportunity for MK's, International students and others to showcase their cultural heritage. Pray for Caroline Cain and Don and Teresa Bolls as they take part in the festival and help others to know more about the Zerma people, food, and culture.

February 19 Pray for a Hands On team to join April when Rebekah completes her Journeyman term and returns to the states in July. (Hands On is an IMB program for college students and young adults who serve for a semester alongside missionaries around the world).

February 20 Pray for the children who visit Rebekah and April at their home in “D” town. Pray for them to continue to find ways to pour His word and the Good News into their lives.

February 21 Pray for Phil, Kimberly, April, and Rebekah to have many divine appointments as they minister during the day. Pray for people whose hearts are ready to follow Jesus, for an opportunity or an open door to share with people whose hearts are receptive to His love.

February 22 Pray for Hi-Way Baptist Church as they are in the planning stages of a return volunteer trip in June of 2014. Pray for each participant!

February 23 Pray for Phil’s discipleship class in the village of “S” as they study twelve lessons on the life and character of Jesus on Mondays. Pray that the men and women attending this class will grow in their knowledge of Christ and be able to explain to others why they believe that Jesus truly is the Savior, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

February 24 God's word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths. Pray for us and our Zerma brothers and sisters in Christ, that we would hold fast to God's word and let it guide our steps on a daily basis.

February 25 Pray for a man has a wounded foot in the “G” neighborhood near one of the Kids Clubs to experience complete and total healing. May he and his family come to a saving knowledge of Christ. Pray for Kimberly as she follows up on his treatments that Stacey began when she was here last month.

February 26 Pray for April and Rebekah as they find ways to reach the Zerma women in “D” town.

February 27 Pray for two children in the sixth grade Bible class that Kimberly teaches to come to understand that the story of God’s love is meant for them personally and to step out in faith and believe the Good News.

February 28 Pray for the health of the Zerma people and our Zerma team. There are many cases of pneumonia, bronchitis, colds/flu, and malaria at this time of year. Please ask God to cover us with his hand of protection and that we will stay healthy and strong in order to serve Him and bring glory to His name.

Blessings,

Phil, Kimberly, April, and Rebekah
The Zerma Team
