August 1—Pray for Caroline today as she travels to Georgia for the MK (missionary kid) Re-entry Retreat. Pray that all the MKs will have a special time together and that all the information shared will be helpful to her transition to life in the U.S.

August 2—Thank you for praying for our travels in the U.S. in July. We had to drive through several bad storms and we experienced God’s protection. We’re so blessed to be settled into the mission house at Ouachita Baptist University.

August 3—Pray for the Zerma as they are participating in Ramadan (the Muslim fast) this month. Pray that God will give them visions and dreams and that their eyes and hearts would be open to the truth of God’s love for them.

August 4—Pray the Bolls as they continue to adjust to retirement and deal with family matters. Pray that God would give them wisdom and discernment about where and how to spend their time.

August 5—Pray for Caleb as he is seeking out friendships with boys of his age, while we’re stateside. Pray for a special friend for Caleb.

August 6—Thank you for praying for the rain to come in Niger! We’re getting reports that Niger is receiving a lot of rain right now. Pray that the rain would continue to come and that there would be good crops to harvest in Niger.

August 7— Please continue to pray for the Zerma as they fast during this month of Ramadan. Pray that as they seek to please God through their prayers and fasting that they would come to understand that they can never please God apart from the Savior.

August 8—Pray for the Zerma believers and seekers to learn more dependence on God. Relationships are very important to the Zerma. Pray that God would use our time in the states to deepen their trust and reliance on Him.

August 9—Pray that God would continue to call out workers—career, short-term, and volunteers, to come join us in reaching the Zerma with the Good News.

August 10—Please pray for rest and relaxation for our family while we’re stateside for two months. Pray that we will be restored and refreshed when we return to Niger.

August 11—Pray for us to give all our anxious thoughts to God and rest in His peace. “Don’t worry about anything, but, in everything with prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

August 12—There are many widows among the Zerma who struggle to provide for their children. Pray that God would provide the means for them to support their children.

August 13—As crops grow and become rooted in the soil across Niger this rainy season, pray that Zerma Christians would grow in their faith and that their faith would be deeply rooted in the Word, able to withstand doubts and fears.

August 14—Many of our Muslim friends are seeking righteousness through their works. Pray that they would understand fully that none of us are righteous apart from a life yielded to Christ.

August 15—Pray that we will have personal time with the Lord and to get our direction from Him. “The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are instructed to know how to sustain the weary with a word…He awakens my ear to listen like those being instructed.” Isaiah 50:4

August 16—Pray for the laborers God will be sending among the Zerma in the coming months—pray that He will equip and prepare them for the task of sharing the Gospel and making disciples.

August 17—Pray that Zerma believers would be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. (Col. 1:9)

August 18—Caroline moves into the dorm today. Pray for her transition to life in the U.S. Pray for her to develop good relationships with her peers and for at least one special friend she can connect with while at Ouachita Baptist University.

August 19—Ramadan is ending today. As the Zerma celebrate the end of a month of fasting, pray that they would realize that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and the only way to salvation.

August 20—Pray for unity among believers in Niger—pray that their love for each other would be a strong testimony about how God works in our lives.

August 21—Pray for our friend Yacouba and his family as they’re involved in many ministry projects. Yacouba has established a television station in Niamey through which he will be able to broadcast Christian programming. Pray that this ministry would touch many lives across Niger.

August 22—Pray that God would help Zerma believers to be courageous and bold in confessing Christ and sharing the gospel.

August 23—Pray for those villages and areas where the name of Christ is not yet known and the Word of God has not been heard. Pray that God would reveal Himself and that His word would spread throughout these areas.

August 24—Pray that God would shower His grace upon the Zerma and open their hearts and minds to receive the Truth.

August 25—Pray for the children who attend Kids’ Clubs to recall and remember Bible stories and Biblical truths while they aren’t meeting until Kimberly’s return.

August 26—Pray that Zerma believers would resist temptation and learn the importance of prayer in their daily lives.

August 27—Pray that as Zerma Christians read or hear the scriptures, they would learn to apply it in their daily lives. Pray they would learn the importance of obedience.

August 28—Pray for the government leaders of Niger, that they would govern wisely as they try to address the many needs of their country. Pray that they would seek God and come to know Him personally.

August 29—We’ve heard reports that large swarms of locusts could do much damage to crops in Niger this year. Pray that this will not be the case.

August 30—Pray for churches to be planted across Niger. Pray that the day will come when all the Zerma have access to a church within easy walking distance. Pray that existing churches will have a vision for planting other churches.

August 31—Pray that Zerma believers would know the peace and presence of the Lord in a special way today.
